Y offers lecture series for moms with teens


Riedell Riedell The Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park will host a free lecture series for mothers with teenagers given by Corine Riedell, licensed physician assistant with Wilkes Family Medicine. The Y is at 320 Via Las Brisas.

Tues., March 6 at 4:30 p.m. and Fri., March 9 at 11:30 a.m.: “ What Your Teen Daughter Needs.”

Riedell will discuss body image, dietary needs, the first PAP, vaccines, the teen emotional roller coaster and how to keep communication open.

• Tues., March 13 at 4:30 p.m. and Fri., March 16 at 11:30 a.m.: “Do I Really Have to Think About Drugs in the Conejo Valley?”

This lecture will cover the science of addiction, warning signs, where to get help and tips for prevention.

Tues., March 27 at 4:30 p.m. and Fri., March 30 at 11:30 a.m.: “Taking Care of the Caretaker.”

Riedell will discuss how to get motivated to eat right to stay balanced and energized.
