EDC-VC installs new board members
Jim Scanlon, CEO of Scanlon, Guerra, Burke Insurance Brokers, was installed as chair of the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County’s board of directors at its 15th annual meeting Jan. 19.
Kathy Long, Ventura County Supervisor, District 3, was installed as vice chair.
Eduardo Flores, a regional plant operations manager at Seminis, a developer, grower and marketer of fruit and vegetable seeds, also joined the board.
Scanlon expanded the family business to more than $100 million in sales. He also serves as chair of the Young Insurance Professionals of San Fernando Valley.
A former small business owner, Long served as chair of the board in 2000, 2005, and 2010. She is an active member of the Camarillo Rotary.
As regional plant operations manager at Seminis, Flores is responsible for three sites with more than $300 million in sales. Previously he served as global continuous improvement lead for Monsanto.
