The Alzheimer’s Association will offer several workshops throughout February at the local chapter’s office, 80 N. Wood Road, Ste. 302, Camarillo.

•From 1 to 5 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 2: To prepare volunteers to run Alzheimer’s support groups, participants in the free workshop will be instructed about services, support group goals and expectations.

• From 1 to 3 p.m., Tues., Feb. 21: People with dementia and their caregivers will learn what precautions to take when creating a safe environment. Admission is free.

• Training for professionals on the basics of dementia, behaviors and communication: Participants will learn information about memory loss issues and what they mean for the people with these issues.

The workshop is $ 20 per person.
