Queen Nation will rock the park on Labor Day
A TRIBUTE TO QUEEN—The Thousand Oaks Acorn will present Queen Nation at 5 p.m. Mon. Sept. 6 at Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Ave., in a special Labor Day concert featuring all the hits of the rock group Queen. Bring a picnic dinner, beverages, lawn chairs and hats for sun protection, but, please, no pets.
Queen Nation will present a musical tribute to the rock group Queen at 5 p.m. Mon., Sept. 6 (Labor Day) in the natural amphitheater at Conejo Community Center, 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks.
Sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Acorn, the free event is the final program in the Conejo Recreation and Park District’s 2010 Summer Concerts in the Park and is suitable for all ages.
Concertgoers may bring chairs, blankets, food and drink, and are advised to arrive early due to parking and lawn seating considerations.
Formed in 2004, Queen Nation has performed at concerts, casinos, fairs, festivals and private functions. The band performs such Queen songs as “We Will Rock You,” “Bohemian Rhapsody, ” “We Are the Champions,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “You’re My Best Friend,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Under Pressure.”
Queen Nation features Joe Retta or Gregory Finsley on vocals and keyboards as Freddie Mercury; Mike McManus on guitar as Brian May; Pete Burke on drums as Roger Taylor; and Parker Combs on bass as John Deacon.
