Public hearing set on T.O. Boulevard business improvement district

The first meeting of the City Council after its summer break will include a public hearing to renew the Thousand Oaks Boulevard Property Business Improvement District, which would allow the district to continue to collect taxes for the next 10 years.

The district taxes itself and uses the money for improvements. Property owners in the district have been sent sealed ballots to vote on whether or not they want to continue to be taxed.

The city clerk will bring those ballots to the meeting, where they will be tabulated.

If property owners vote to con- tinue to be taxed, the City Council may renew the district and continue to levy the tax.

The hearing is set for 6 p.m. Tues., Sept. 7 in City Council chambers in the Scherr Forum at city hall, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

A general description of the business improvement district boundaries include the parcels along Thousand Oaks Boulevard between Conejo Boulevard to the west and Duesenberg Drive to the east. Streets connecting with Thousand Oaks Boulevard and dead-ending at the 101 Freeway that are in the district are Long Court, Moody Court, Clay Court, Pierce Court, Taylor Court, Zuniga Ridge Lane, Oakwood Drive and Dallas Drive.

Anyone interested in attending is invited to the meeting and will be permitted to speak.
