Conejo Jewish Outreach offering High Holy Day class

Conejo Jewish Outreach will host a class that offers the Jewish community an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming High Holy Days.

“Yom Kippur: What it Means to Forgive” will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Tues., Aug. 31 at the home of Russ and Julie Paris in Agoura. Directions will be given when reservations are made.

The class will discuss the true meaning of forgiveness and the freedom it brings to lives and relationships. The cost is $18. The instructor is Rabbi Len Muroff, a specialist in family education.

High Holy Day services will take place at Heschel West Day School, 27400 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. Rabbi Len Muroff will officiate. Composer, musician and educator Josh Friedman will perform at the Erev Rosh Hashana and Rosh Hashana services.

The schedule is as follows:

Erev Rosh Hashana: 7 p.m. Wed., Sept. 8.

Rosh Hashana: 9:15 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 9.

Erev Yom Kippur/Kol Nidre: 6:45 p.m. Fri., Sept. 17.

Yom Kippur (children’s services available): 9:30 a.m. Sat., Sept. 18.

Tickets are $120 individual or $300 family, including children under age 18.

CJO is inclusive of Jews from varied backgrounds and levels of observance. All families and individuals are welcome.
