Thousand Oaks resident Zachary Sunderland, 18, who made worldwide headlines in 2009 for sailing solo around the world, was arrested in Thousand Oaks on Thursday.

Sunderland allegedly provided alcohol to several minors inside a vacant home at 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12 in the 2200 block of Calle Riscoso, according to a police report.

He allegedly fled from one officer and tried to tackle a second before being detained.

Sunderland faces possible charges of providing alcohol to minors, trespassing and using force to resist arrest.
