Writer asks about congressman’s photo
As a liberal Democrat, I disagree with almost every viewpoint and policy position of my congressman, Elton Gallegly.
His guest column last week on the subject of immigration is no exception.
However, I’m writing for a different reason than to express my opposition to Mr. Gallegly’s views on this issue.
I’m writing to ask why, whenever you publish an article about Mr. Gallegly or a commentary from him, you always run the same stock photo of him.
That photo must be at least 20 years old and is really a misrepresentation of the man to voters and constituents.
Do you run 20-year-old photos of anyone else in your paper? Don’t you have a more recent shot? This makes me shudder in fear that Mr. Gallegly is the “Dorian Gray” of the U.S. Congress. And anyone who has read the short story knows that Mr. Gray isn’t someone you’d want as your congressman!

The Acorn contacted Gallegly’s office, and we were told, “That’s his official photo.”
