T.O. Library presenting many family activities

August will be a busy month at the T.O. and Newbury Park branches

The Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library at 1401 E. Janss Road will present the following events in August. All programs are free and at the Brimhall library unless otherwise noted.

•Courtyard Serenade at 7 p.m. Tues., Aug. 10. New West Symphony Quartet performs under the stars in the library courtyard. Sponsored by the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library.

•Movie Matinee at 1 p.m. Mon., Aug. 9. Screening of “Jaws” starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss. Rated PG, 124 minutes.

•Free Family Film Fest at 2 p.m. Bring the family and your own refreshments.

“Up” on Wed., Aug. 11 in Thousand Oaks and Mon., Aug. 23 at Newbury Park branch, 2331 Borchard Road. Disney/ Pixar, PG, 96 minutes.

“Hotel for Dogs” on Wed., Aug. 25 in Thousand Oaks. DreamWorks SKG, PG, 100 minutes.

•Family story times at Newbury Park branch. 10:30 a.m. Sat., Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov 13, Dec. 11. Familyfriendly story times followed by small craft projects.

•Off to a Great Start! at 11 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 19. A free story time program for children entering kindergarten.

•On Your Mark, Get Set, Go! Preschool Here We Come! 10:30 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 26 at the Newbury Park branch. Free story time and craft for children attending preschool for the first time.
