The swastica is an attack on all faiths
I was horrified when I read about the elderly couple in Dos Vientos who discovered a swastika painted on the side of their home.
They have good reason to be terrified. Under the unfurling of that dreaded symbol, 6 million innocent men, women and children were killed in Hitler’s death camps. Thousands of American servicemen fought and died in World War II to bring Hitler’s madness to an end.
The swastika is an affront to their sacrifice. All told, 50 million lost their lives in World War II.
An attack on one faith is an attack on all faiths.
I hope there’s outrage from the clergy in our community and from our civic leaders against this act of violence against an elderly couple.
Do not ask for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for all of us.
