Children make the most of summertime fun

LOTS TO DO AT TROPICAL DAZE—Thousand Oaks resident Ira Pincus, above, shows his sons, Jason, 2, Brandon, 2, and Matthew, 4, some of the different species from the ocean that were displayed at the Aquarium Connection during last weekend’s Tropical Daze Summer Music Festival. The weather was perfect, unseasonably cool, at Thousand Oaks Community Park. Emma Marsh, 2, below, of Westlake Village plays with bubbles during Tropical Daze. The bubbles and other handson activities for toddlers were sponsored by Conejo Valley First Five. The event ran from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Musicians played Caribbean music or music that emphasized summer or the tropics. Food and beverage vendors provided a wide selection of items, all with a tropical flavor.
