Illegal fireworks ignite a brushfire


QUICK WORK STOPS FIRE–Ventura County firefighters contained a 2-acre brush fire that was reported about 10:40 p.m. on July 6. The blaze burned a hill behind St. Paschal Baylon Church. It was blamed on teenagers playing with fireworks. A much larger brushfire in Camarillo sent huge clouds of dark smoke into the skies northwest of Conejo Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
