EARTHS school will host science experiment stations

EARTHS (Environmental Academy for Research Technology and Earth Sciences) Magnet School in Newbury Park will host 10 free science experiment stations at the second annual Tropical Daze Summer Music Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. and Sun., July 24 and 25 at Thousand Oaks Community Park, 2525 Moorpark Road.

Each station will contain a separate experiment designed for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Student docents, teachers and parents will be at each science station to lead the experiments

EARTHS opened last year. The school incorporates earth sciences and technology into its curriculum.

Admission to Tropical Daze is free. The festival features live music, tropical food and activities for children.

An authentic luau buffet and live show will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at a cost of $21 in advance.
