Whisky Business, a whiskey tasting club, will host a sampling of American whiskeys at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., July 22 at Eric’s Restaurant, 495 N. Ventu Park, Newbury Park.

Aficionados and neophytes alike can taste and learn more about this complex spririt in a relaxed setting.

The tasting will feature a presentation on how corn and rye whiskeys differ from the malt and barley varieties made in Ireland and Scotland.

The price is $35 and includes light appetizers. A reservation is required; the tasting will likely sell out. Participants must be over 21.
