Won’t be voting for Fox or Gillette

A monthly salary of $1,700 plus medical coverage, in addition to the careers they currently draw benefits from off the council— this is what incumbents Andy Fox and Dennis Gillette will once again be asking you for this November.

Fox, who currently serves as a fireman in L.A. County, and Gillette, a retired policeman, are now officially running after a combined span of nearly 30 years on the City Council between them. These two incumbents are the poster children of term limits.

In 2005, they took away our right to vote when Mr. Ed Masry passed away; they have continued, with the exception of this election year, to grant themselves pay raises and have catered to developers and their lobbyists, and just a few short years ago approved ridgeline development next to Wildwood Park.

Our community needs change.

We cannot be fooled again because we have open spaces and parks, as is the mantra of these two officials.
