Parks also took money from unions, so she’s no better
Regarding Linda Parks versus Audra Strickland, the winner was hypocrisy.
After what I just found out, I just can’t help submitting this, even if it’s late.
Almost every day for the past weeks, we have received at least one glossy four-color card stock campaign flier from both major candidates in the race for county supervisor.
One reasonably wonders “Where does the huge amount of money come from for these hundreds of thousands of expensive high-quality fliers?”
When both candidates participate in vicious mudslinging based mostly on out-of-context quotes and partial voting records, one wonders what the truth really is.
The final straw for me is when I received two such fliers from Parks and one from Strickland.
One from Parks accused Strickland of being “beholden to the California Prison Guards Union.” But the disclosure on the second one that also attacked Strickland includes “Funded by SEIU Local 721, CTW, CLC.”
Wait–unions funding Parks, who accuses Strickland of the same?!
Sure enough, with just a little digging I found that SEIU is the Service Employees International Union, CTW is “Change To Win” –an organization of unions and locals started through the SEIU.
CLC is the Canadian Labor Congress, a foreign organization which, according to its own website, is an “umbrella organization for Canada’s national and international”–you guessed it– “unions.”
Hold on! Parks implies she’s “union free”! But her propaganda that accuses her opponent of being union-financed is also unionfinanced?!
How could this be?
