Magorien, Kingi share Marmonte MVP award for boys’ volleyball
The Marmonte League honored outstanding student-athletes from the spring sports season.
First team, second team and honorable mention athletes are listed below.
Boys’ volleyball
Westlake’s Travis Magorien and Thousand Oaks’ Austin Kingi are co-MVPs in volleyball.
Dylan Shigekawa of Moorpark is the Libero of the Year.
First-team standouts are Andrew Sato of Agoura; Stacey Kelly of Royal; Thousand Oaks’ Scott Hendrickson and Jason Avina; and Westlake’s Keats Stanley and Jacob Delson.
Second-team players are Newbury Park’s Stephen Santos and Matt Jeske; Thor English of Royal; Lucas Dunn of Simi Valley; Thousand Oaks’ Ryan Hay; and Westlake’s Matt Litchfield and Marshall Schactel.

Baseball
Royal High’s Cody Buckel, who was picked in the second round of Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, is the league’s Player of the Year.
Luke Swenson of Moorpark is the Pitcher of the Year.

Agoura’s Shannon Kaufman is the Offensive Player of the Year while Charger teammate Stefany Valentino is the Defensive Player of the Year.

Adam Shapiro of Calabasas, Newbury Park’s Nick Sweetman and Matt Skwaruzynski of Thousand Oaks are second-team singles players.
