The Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue will host summer Shabbat services on Westward Beach, across from the Sunset restaurant in Malibu.

The services will be at 7 p.m. on June 18, July 9, 23 and 20, and Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Patrons can arrive early and bring picnic dinners and wine. Attendees should bring beach blankets or folding chairs.

During the service each person will light a Shabbat candle, chant the blessing together, watch the sunset and raise a cup of wine for Kiddush.

Rabbi Judith HaLevy and Cantor Marcelo Gindlin will lead the services.
