Foundation to present awards

The Greater Conejo Valley Community Foundation will honor local individuals and organizations that have made a positive impact on the cities of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Agoura Hills at the eighth annual Spirit of Community Awards from 7 to 9 p.m. Fri., June 4 at the Renaissance Agoura Hills Hotel, 30100 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills.

Lillian Davies, active with the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden and RSVP, will be honored as Community Volunteer of the Year.

The Hogan Family Foundation will be honored as the Community Nonprofit Organization of the Year.

Jerry Morris, an instructor at Thousand Oaks High School, will be named Teacher of the Year for the Conejo Valley Unified School District.

Sheri Kavanaugh, a teacher at White Oak Elementary School, will be honored as Teacher of the Year for the Las Virgenes Unified School District.

The evening features a two-hour dessert reception and awards presentation.

The cost to attend is $30, and reservations are required.
