SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) will present a free seminar on “Do you have what it takes to be in your own business?” from 5 to 9 p.m. today, May 27, at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road.

The keynote speaker will be Bill Gootnick, former COO of Applause. The seminar will discuss the winning traits a successful small business owner requires and dispel the myths of owning a business.

Counselors and representatives from the Small Business Administration will be present to answer questions.
