Quite frankly I’m aghast at the nasty attacks by Audra Strickland toward her fellow Republican, Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks.

I’ve counted at least five mailers in the last week alone that have gone so far as to portray the supervisor as a grotesque caricature by a model wearing a fright wig, not to mention the total misrepresentation of her record.

Supervisor Parks is a true fiscal conservative, strong supporter of local business and an ardent resident advocate.

At $25,000 a pop, these attack mailers show the financial might of special interests who have to lie to discredit Supervisor Parks.

She, on the other hand, relies on the donations of her fellow citizens to get the word out.

Whatever happened to President Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican”?
