You really got me, hook, line and sinker on April 1! When I began reading your article about the new city hall, my eyes bugged out of my head. (Of course, this was with my first cup of coffee of the day, so I don’t think I was quite ready.)

The thing is, I just kept reading it, fuming and scowling and poring over each line.

When I got to Mayor Emma Bigshot, the thought passed my mind, wow, her position fits her name, but then I thought, that can’t be our mayor—still not getting it, probably too blinded by anger and, oh, just everything, when I finally took a glance down in disbelief, there it was: “Happy April Fools’ Day!”

Well, you got me, so I guess I must be a fool! And as Barnum said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

Ouch, that would be me. What a relief!
