While I enjoyed the Acorn’s front page April Fools’ commentary, I found your “news” stories neither compelling nor humorous.

“The City Council voted 4-1 to knock down The Lakes to build a skyscraper, with city hall offices relocating to the penthouse” may well be on their agenda already!

It’s no more ridiculous than their plans to do an end run around the city charter to build a regional sports complex in Lang Ranch with money the city doesn’t have.

Fortunately, Claudia Bill-de la Peña is the only sane voice on the City Council, the only elected official whose concern is the residents of this community.

Presumably that was the single dissenting voice in your April Fools’ commentary.

One voice of reason is all we have?
