‘Irma La Douce’ to charm audiences at T.O.’s Civic Arts Plaza
The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation will present Musical Theatre Guild’s “Irma La Douce” at 3 p.m. Sun., April 25 in the Civic Arts Plaza’s Scherr Forum Theatre, Bank of America Performing Arts Center, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd.
The Broadway in Concert Series, celebrating musicals from the 1960s, continues with “Irma La Douce.” Set in Paris, this show revolves around Irma, a carefree Montmartre streetwalker whose life is turned upside down when she falls in love with Nestor le Fripé, a poor law student, who, in order to keep her for himself, assumes the disguise of a rich older man.
The musical opened on Broadway in 1960 and was nominated for seven Tony Awards.
Principal cast members are Robin DeLano, Dan Callaway, Chuck Bergman, Christopher Carothers, Steven Hack, Joe Hart, Michael Kostroff, Brandon Michael Perkins, Jeffrey Polk, David Holmes, Roy Leake Jr., John Massey Jr. and Barry Pearl. Rudy Tronto will be reprising his role from the original Broadway production.
The show is directed and choreographed by Roger Castellano with musical direction by Ron Colvard.
