Maps are more valuable than expensive logos
I read with amazment that the city of Thousand Oaks, which is trying to cut budgets and save money, tossed away $25,000 on a logo that looks like a dead tree.
What’s even more amazing is that this money was spent instead of city maps that have important information on them.
How many citizens would vote for a new logo over a map? I’ve done maps for chambers of commerce and in fact did the current one that’s used by the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.
I was told that the city is buying maps from them, so how much money are they really saving? The maps don’t cost that much if someone from the city really wants to save money and call us.
They know we already have the program for the map.
The graphic people I work with were all amazed how expensive this logo is.
I wonder how many bids were obtained for this fiasco.
