Trustees remind residents about district’s programs

We’re so pleased with all of the child care and preschool options available through Conejo Valley Unified that we wanted to make sure that members of the community know what’s available.

Neighborhood for Learning preschools are located at City Center and on the campuses of Conejo, EARTHS (Environmental Academy for Research Technology Elementary School), Glenwood, Park Oaks and University elementary schools.

Junior kindergartens are located at Aspen, Maple and Westlake Hills elementary schools.

Adult education runs preschool programs at Horizon Hills.

Our newest venture began a year and a half ago with the planning and implementation of the University Center.

Child Care moved to the campus last summer and has taken the office and remodeled two classrooms and the library. Tours are currently being conducting for their Wonder Years Preschool. As this program continues to expand, they’ll be using more rooms on this site.

The special education preschool, which serves more than 200 students with speech and language needs, will be moving to University in spring or early summer as will special day classes. Speech therapists and psychologists will have offices located on campus to provide services to these students.

Summer camps are planned at University Center for preschool level children.

All of these options give young families in the district more choices than were available in the past, introduce families to our Conejo Valley unified family and generate much needed income for our district in these difficult economic times.

Many of these programs are filling up quickly for this summer and next year so it’s never too early to explore these choices.

We only wish all of these exciting programs had been available through the district when our children were young.
