Vets join animal hospital staff

Westlake Village Animal Hospital has announced the addition of two associate veterinarians to its medical staff. Lisa Woolf, DVM, will practice small animal and veterinary holistic medicine, and Howard Martin, DVM, will practice avian, exotic, wildlife and small animal medicine.

Woolf was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. Following her education in conventional veterinary medicine, she attended the Chi Institute in Jacksonville, Fla., and studied traditional Chinese veterinary medicine and acupuncture.

Martin has more than 28 years of avian and exotic experience. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis. He completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery and an additional two-year residency program in zoo and wildlife medicine.

Martin taught for six years at Colorado State University and established an avian and exotic clinic. He has published articles on avian and exotic medicine and is on the board of directors for the Gibbon Conservation Center.

Westlake Village Animal Hospital and Agoura-Westlake Animal Hospital are owned by Daniel Slaton, DVM, and Steven Rosenstein, DVM. They operate two locations in Westlake Village and are expected to complete a new 8,300-square-foot animal hospital in June at 31166 Via Colinas.
