Ronald Reagan Day is proposed
A state Senate bill has been introduced that would proclaim Feb. 6 as Ronald Reagan Day in California.
State Sen. George Runner (R-Santa Clarita) proposed the legislation on the eve of Reagan’s 99th birthday on Feb. 6.
The measure would encourage California public schools to participate in activities commemorating the life and achievements of the former president.
If the bill is passed, the first Ronald Reagan Day would occur on the 100th anniversary of his birth–Feb. 6, 2011.
