Los Robles to offer seminar on heart disease prevention
Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center will present a free community seminar titled “The Prevention of Heart Disease” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Feb. 20 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.
The seminar moderator will be cardiologist Irv Loh.
The speakers will be Paulette Lambert, registered dietician, director of nutrition of California Health and Longevity Institute, and the following physicians on staff at Los Robles Hospital: David Bjelica, endocrinologist; Vishva Dev, cardiologist; Barry Klein, radiologist; Leo Polosajian, cardiologist and Michael Papanicolaou, cardiologist.
The speakers will discuss causes and risk factors of heart disease; diet, nutritional and lifestyle interventions; early assessment and diagnostic methods including stress tests, coronary calcium scans and noninvasive angiography; treatment options including angioplasty and stents; electrophysiology and irregular heartbeats; and preventive strategies to minimize risks.
A continental breakfast will be served.
