City reminds business owners it’s time to renew tax certificates

The city of Thousand Oaks reminds business owners that all business tax certificates expire annually on Dec. 31. It is the taxpayer’s responsibility to submit payment for renewal in advance of Jan. 1 each year. Taxes become delinquent and subject to penalty of $10 or 10 percent of said tax, whichever is greater, on the first day of each month after the delinquency, to a maximum of no more than 100 percent of the tax if not received or postmarked by March 1.

Business taxes become delinquent and subject to penalty if not received by the city on or before March 1.

Business tax renewal payments can be made online at www.toaks.org/paybill.

Renewal payments will be accepted at the finance department customer service counter, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Renewals may also be mailed to: City of Thousand Oaks, Attn: Finance Department-Business License, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.

For more information or to pay by credit card over the phone, call customer service at (805) 449-2201.
