Israeli general will speak

The Conejo Jewish Academy will host a lecture titled “Hero: General Doron Almog Speaks Out” at 8 p.m. Mon., Feb. 8 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza grand ballroom, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

The lecture is co-sponsored by the Jewish National Fund, Aleh Negev and the Conejo Valley Friendship Circle.

Almog had a 35-year career in the Israeli Defense Forces and participated in a number of special operations, including the pursuit of the terrorists behind the killing of Israeli Olympians in Munich in 1972, the rescue operation at Entebbe airport in 1976 and the airlift of Ethiopian Jews in the 1980s.

Almog is also the founder and chair of Aleh Negev, a rehabilitative village in the Negev for developmentally disabled children and young adults.

The general is the father of an autistic son, Eran.

Tickets for the lecture are $16 in advance and $20 at the door.
