If it’s Parks vs. Strickland, voters lose either way

This letter is from a name in the past.

It’s interesting that Audra Strickland is now focused on running for supervisor, or at least alluding that she may, against Linda Parks.

I recall, and I’m certain the Star has digital records, when I floated that I might run for state Assembly when Tony Strickland was termed out, Tony asked me to lunch at Roxy’s Deli to dissuade me from running because Audra was planning to run.

He said he wouldn’t ask me not to run if that’s what I really wanted to do; however, there would be little support from the GOP Central Committee.

Now there may be a threat to Parks’ seat from a well-known name.

Parks is no saint, either.

Her goal was always to be a supervisor, because she once told me, “This is where the real money is.” Prior to becoming a supervisor she had no income.

Parks knew that replacing a sitting supervisor–Frank Schillo wasn’t running–was a rare opportunity, and therefore would provide a long-term source of income.

Now of course the Stricklands are no strangers to office elevation in order to maintain income.

Career politicians are easily spotted by the number of offices they will run for, in spite of qualifications. Count the various offices that Tony has either run for or floated the idea of running for.

I believe once he was even contemplating a run for the U.S. Senate!

Back to Parks. She’s no more a real Republican than Arnold Schwarzenegger.

She’s never been for property rights. She’s always been for extreme environmentalism and, true to liberalism, will turn on you if you dare to vote your conscience rather than what she wants you to do.

My vote, if I could, would be for anybody but Strickland or Parks.
