Center for Spiritual Living will present celebration of nonviolence
The Center for Spiritual Living Westlake Village will kick off the 13th annual Gandhi-King-Chavez Season For Peace and Nonviolence with guest speaker Timothy Pownall at 7 p.m. Wed., Jan. 27 at the center, 880 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.
Pownall is the director of the Pacis Project in faithbased diplomacy and adjunct professor at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. He is also the executive director of the Center for Conflict Resolution in Los Angeles.
The Pacis Project brings together the practice of religion with politics in the cause of peacemaking and conflict resolution. This informative discussion will focus on the project’s peace building efforts, its achievements, the lessons learned since its formation in 2008 and future plans for global expansion.
A love offering will be taken.
A Season for Peace and Nonviolence is a 64-day educational, media and grass-roots campaign to promote nonviolence as a way to heal and transform individuals and communities.
