Libraries should stay open during winter break
Bah, humbug to the city of Thousand Oaks––closing our libraries at a time when they’re needed the most!
The Thousand Oaks Library is closing at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24 and reopening on Dec. 28 with limited hours. The Newbury Park Library is closing at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24 and not reopening until Jan. 3, closed for more than two weeks!
Our local library will be closed during the prime Christmas break time for local children, families, college students, adults and senior citizens.
Yes, we know there are major budget shortfalls, but closing the libraries is unacceptable.
Maybe the City Council should re-evaluate the reversal of the library usage fee for out-ofcity patrons or stop hiring “consultants” for The Lakes shopping center.
