‘Nutcracker’ ballet at Civic Arts Plaza
ON THEIR TOES–Alyssa Peters, Elizabeth Sutton and Kelsey Hennick will perform in the Moorpark Civic Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker” Friday and Saturday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza in the Ray Scherr Forum Theatre.
The Moorpark Civic Ballet will present its annual production of “The Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Fri., Dec. 18 and 1:30 p.m. Sat., Dec. 19 at the Ray Scherr Forum, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
The production will have more than 80 dancers. Moorpark High School student Elizabeth Sutton, 15, will dance the role of Clara.
Other local dancers are Thousand Oaks sisters Michelle Peters as the Candy Cane Lead and Alyssa Peters Spanish Lead. Katy Talon of Fillmore will be the principal dancer for Flutes.
Guest artists are Kenny Borchard, Christopher Rossi, Shannon Pape and Karissa Smith along with ensembles from Ballet Arts Studio in Thousand Oaks and Dance Fusion in Redondo Beach.
Now in its 14th year, the production raises funds for the Moorpark Civic Ballet, a nonprofit organization that provides the art of dance through both education and entertainment and provides cultural programs accessible to everyone.
