Strickland should find a job in private enterprise

Does anyone but me find it offensive that politicians such as Audra Strickland never really get termed out of office, they just look for another way to live off the public?

Not only did she not return to the private sector, but she’s running for treasurer, an office which I thought requires a certain amount of expertise.

Her predecessor and supporter, Lawrence Matheney, admits that she doesn’t have the requisite skills but says we shouldn’t worry because she’s a quick learner.

Strange, but I’m not reassured. I thought this was an important job.

Matheney, if I recall correctly, had a significant background in finance when he first ran for that office. I voted for him, and I’m disappointed that he thinks so little of the office that anyone with an “inquisitive mind and ability to ask questions” can do it. Audra Strickland went to Sacramento as a neophyte, and we can see how well that worked out.

Let’s be honest about this. She has two qualifications for this job: her husband’s last name and the fact that no one will be able to raise enough money to run against her.

The only positive thing is she won’t add to the unemployment numbers.

But I really don’t want to pay for her on-the-job training again .
