For the record

The flood plain public hearing scheduled for the Tues., Nov. 17 City Council meeting was postponed at the last minute.

The rescheduling was announced by Mayor Pro Tem Dennis Gillette when the meeting opened. Afterward, city spokesperson Andrew Powers said several Ventura County cities that have been adversely affected by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) map changes have sent a delegation to Washington, D.C., to push FEMA to delay its flood plain plans.

T.O. is waiting to see what FEMA’s plans are.

The flood plain proposal is expected to be on the Tues., Dec. 15 City Council meeting agenda but could be put off until next year.
