Alliance for the Arts marks 15 years
Alliance for the Arts will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a special pops concert with the New West Symphony and Broadway star and singer Bernadette Peters on Sat., Nov. 21 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
The festivities will include a pre-concert dinner featuring live entertainment from Cabrillo Music Theatre and the Pacific Festival Ballet. The cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by dinner in the Scherr Forum at 6 p.m. and the concert at 8:15 p.m.
During the dinner, Eloise and Chuck Cohen will receive the Lifetime Achievement for the Arts Award, and Elizabeth and Richard Grossman with be presented with the Children’s Access to the Arts Award.
Peters won her first critical acclaim off-Broadway starring as Ruby in “Dames at Sea.” She has starred on Broadway in “Into The Woods,” “Gypsy,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Song and Dance.”
Peters has won two Tony Awards, three Drama Desk Awards and four Broadway Cast Albums Grammy Awards. She has starred in 32 feature films or television movies, including “Pennies from Heaven” and “Annie.”
