Wellness Community prepares for 18th Holiday Homes Tour

The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura has launched ticket sales for the 18th annual Holiday Homes Tour, a selfguided tour of four Conejo Valley homes, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat., Dec. 5 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sun., Dec. 6.

The event is the organization’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds funding free programs of support and education for people fighting cancer and for their families.

Actor John Schneider of the television shows “The Dukes of Hazzard” and “Smallville” and his wife, Elly, will host “Elegant Christmas Encore” at their house. The home features a collection of memorabilia from Schneider’s career in the entertainment industry. The ivydraped Tudor-style manor in Agoura Hills will have seven decorated rooms featuring an “angelic” Christmas tree and a “square” piano.

A bonus boutique featuring a collection of home and holiday treasures from The Decor Store will be available at this home.

Marla and Arnie Schwartz invite visitors to A “Fairy” Merry Christmas at their self-described “Zen-terian” (Mediterranean meets Asian) home in the North Ranch Country Club Estates of Westlake Village. Seven Christmas trees throughout the home reflect such themes as “The Fashionista,” “Under the Sea” and a “Winged Things” tree. The largest tree in the living room is the teal-and-brown-accented “Peace and Love” tree. The Fairy Room reflects Fairy Fun author Marla Schwartz’s love of the whimsical creatures.

The North Pointe home of the family of Stephen Smith features “European Elegance,” with twin curved staircases in the foyer. The courtyard that wraps around the entire home has been decorated for the season. A menorah is also on display in the Italian/ European-style home.

The Santa Monica Mountains provide the inspiration for a Traditional Family Christmas at the home of Mike and Doreen Jansen in the Malibu View Estates of Agoura Hills. Their tree holds a collection of china ornaments, each one hand-painted by the owner’s mother.

Tickets are $25 until Sat., Oct. 31. The cost will be $30 from Nov. 1 through Dec. 6 and $35 at the door. To purchase tickets online, visit www.TwcVv.org.
