Bridges Charter School deserves trustees’ approval

This is an open request to Conejo Valley Unified School District board members to honor their “primary responsibility to act in the best interests of every student in the district” by authorizing the Bridges Charter School’s charter petition.

Bridges Charter School (K-8) at the University Elementary campus will supplement the district’s educational options and offer an innovative, high-quality public school choice to meet the needs of more students in our community––students who will likely remain in a CVUSD high school.

I encourage CVUSD trustees to establish a cooperative working relationship with the school, and not the dismissive, divisive, litigious and costly strategies of the past.

Embrace the energy, passion and wishes of CVUSD parents and students by allowing Bridges Charter School to serve students and their families in fall of 2010 at the former University Elementary School campus. Jennifer Kerr Thousand Oaks
