Three public hearings on next Tuesday’s council agenda
Three public hearings are scheduled for the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. next Tues., Oct. 27.
Council members will consider the adoption of an ordinance requiring businesses that sell alcohol, including bars, liquor and grocery stores, to post signs warning of the dangers of mixing alcohol with energy drinks.
For more information about this hearing, call the Thousand Oaks Police Department at (805) 449-2762.
An amendment to the municipal code to establish tree pruning standards and modify current standards for parking area landscapes will also be heard at next Tuesday’s meeting.
For more information on the tree pruning hearing, call code compliance manager Geoff Ware at (805) 449-2305.
Resident John Walsh’s appeal of a planning commission decision is also expected to be heard.
The decision denied Walsh the following: keeping unpermitted retaining walls and decks within a restricted-use area, keeping walls more than 6 feet high, grading in a natural slope area over 25 percent gradient, and encroaching into the protected zones of oak trees at an existing single-family house in the 5400 block of N. Lakeview Canyon Road. Assistant planner Joey Lin will answer any questions at (805) 449-2327.
Department reports for next week’s meeting hadn’t been determined by this week’s deadline. Staff reports will be available for review on Fri., Oct. 23 on the city’s website at www.toaks.org when the City Council agenda is posted.
The hearings will be in the council chambers at the Scherr Forum Theater, City Hall, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
