Moorpark College to perform Wilder

Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department will present its Fall 2009 Main Stage production of Thornton Wilder’s “The Skin of Our Teeth” from Oct. 22 through Nov. 1 in the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center, 7075 Campus Road.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. Oct. 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 and 2 p.m. Oct. 25 and Nov. 1.

The play spans time and space as the Antrobus family encounters the Ice Age, the Great Flood and the Napoleonic Wars. Through each trial the family comes full circle and embraces the struggles while celebrating the human spirit and its capacity to overcome diversity. 

The production includes newsreels, natural disasters and a crazy fortune teller. The director is Moorpark College Theatre Arts instructor and Hollywood casting director Eileen Kennedy.

Cast members are Sean Murphy of Camarillo; Korinne Wilkening and Patrick Beckstead of Moorpark; Robert Pond of Newbury Park; Stephanie Gordeau of Oak Park; Taylor Bradley of Palmdale; Josef Knauber of Reseda; Amber Schumann, Chris Guerrero, Danielle Kaufman, Erin Esgate, Melissa Pinza, Philip Sanders, and Ryan Lefton of Simi Valley; Alyssa Carillo, Charles Match, Christopher Carroll, Ed Connelly, Shannon Hewitt and Taryn Allen of Thousand Oaks; and Kaleigh Slezinger and R. Shane Bingham of Woodland Hills

The Moorpark College Foundation will host a gala reception fundraiser, open to members of the community over 21 with advance ticket purchase, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 24.

The $150 event includes a cocktail and appetizer reception on the third floor of the campus library and VIP seating for the show.

Regular tickets for all shows are $8 for students, $9 for seniors and Moorpark College staff, and $16 for adults.
