La Reina students earn national merit honors
Eleven students at La Reina High School have been named Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students are Alexandra Clark, Noorean Gill, Dasha Gloutak, Kate Grode, Caitlyn Hardy, Janet Lee, Jodi Loo, Sarah McGough, Amanda Schubert, Kayla Shaffer and Emma Sullivan.
A letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, was presented to the seniors.
Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2010 competition by taking the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
La Reina is a Catholic, college preparatory junior and senior high school in Thousand Oaks for girls in grades seven through 12. It’s on Janss Road, west of Moorpark Road.
