Cyclists ride for MS
The Southern California Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host its annual Bike MS Ride on Sat. and Sun., Oct. 3 and 4 in Ventura.
More than 1,500 cyclists are expected to take part and raise money for the cause; the goal is $1.26 million. Funds raised will support services for the more than 14,500 Southern and Central Californians living with MS and their families and will also go toward national MS research to find a cure for this disease of the central nervous system.
Scenic route options are available for every level of cyclist, from 15 miles on one day up to 160 miles over two days.
All cyclists will receive meals and support, with rest stops every 15 miles and rescue vehicles along the route. A festival on Saturday afternoon will have food, music, beer garden, massage tent and leisure activities. People can participate individually or as a team. Volunteers are also needed.
