The Valley Interfaith Council will host the annual Gandhi Day Celebration at 4 p.m. Sun., Oct. 4 at St. John Eudes Catholic Church, 9901 Mason Ave., Chatsworth.

The theme for this year is “Gandhi’s relevance for our time.”

Activities will include Indian cultural exhibits including clothing, jewelry by Salma Khan and mehndi (henna skin art) by Sandhya Maheshwari.

Prithvl Sharma, MD, general secretary of the India Friends Association, will give the keynote address. Sharma was born and educated in India and has served a private practice of cardiology in Camarillo since 1980.

After the program, Indian food will be served.

The event is open to the public at no charge.
