The Stand Up for Cancer Survivors Comedy FUNdraiser for The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will begin at 7:15 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 8 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Scherr Forum, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The event will feature standup comics Randy Lubas, Jack Mayberry and John DiCrosta, all of the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club.

Mayberry made 22 appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and was also seen on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,” “Evening at the Improv” and “Comic Strip Live.”

Lubas has performed more than 5,000 shows in 43 states.

He’s the owner of J.R.’s Comedy Club in Valencia and coowner of the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club.

A warmup comic in Hollywood, DiCrosta has worked on “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher,” “Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “American Idol.”

Tickets range from $24 to $34 at the Civic Arts Plaza box office and www.ticketmaster.com, or $20 to $30 at the Wellness Community, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

Proceeds will benefit local cancer support programs.
