First Church of Christ, Scientist, Camarillo will host a free talk titled “Just what is Christian Science?” at 7:30 p.m. today, Sept. 17 at the Camarillo Library community room, 4101 Las Posas Road.

International speaker and practitioner of Christian Science healing Marceil DeLacy will discuss the ideas shared in the classic text on Christian healing, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy, its relation to the Bible, and how the book has impacted generations of people around the world.

DeLacy will explain how spiritual healing is done and how it not only restores health, but gives a higher purpose to life.

DeLacy became a practitioner of Christian Science healing 20 years ago and later a teacher of prayer-based healing. Her home base is in Seattle, Wash.

The talk is a part of the 2009 Prayer That Heals Guest Speaker Series hosted by the Christian Science Churches in Ventura County.
