Help available for Vallecito residents
On Sept. 8, the City Council voted to approve the conversion of the Vallecito Mobile Estates from rental spaces to owner-occupied spaces. City officials expect the conversion process will take about a year.
Individuals with an annual income of less than $49,000 and households of two with an annual income of less than $56,000 will remain protected by a form of rent control. Other residents will also be provided rental protection over the first eight years as the rent is gradually brought up to market value.
