Escorting the wall to Westlake Village


VIETNAM MEMORIAL—Vietnam  veteran Rick Mattes, who served in the Army and is a TOHS Class of 1966 graduate and a Newbury Park resident, rides in a motorcade of U.S. servicemen and motorcycle club riders. They’re escorting the truck containing the three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., as it arrives at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial Park in the city of Westlake Village. The arrival took place yesterday. The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall will be open for public viewing Friday through Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 7.
