Grateful it was a false alarm


FIREFIGHTERS QUICK TO RESPOND–Three fire engines, a rescue squadron, a ladder truck, a battalion chief and 14 firefighters rushed to the 1500 block of Valley High Avenue on Monday. A resident called 911 after smelling fumes in her home over the past couple of days. No fire was discovered, but the resident said she appreciated how quickly the trucks came to her home and how “wonderful and polite” the firefighters were. The brushfire season has arrived, too.
